Summary:
Change is a constant in the world of public health. This interactive online change management workshop is designed for individuals at the manager level and above as well as emerging leaders. It will equip participants to understand the fundamental elements of successful change, plan actions to increase change effectiveness, and overcome common change-related challenge. The content illustrates key roles in the change process, summarizes elements of effective performance in each change-related role, and outlines steps in the process of change. It also discusses key elements of successful change initiatives and describes the primary change-related challenges in the public health environment. Participants will discuss strategies for addressing common challenges. It emphasizes the critical role of leaders in creating a healthy environment for change.

This This interactive online workshop is not a webinar, but rather an interactive bi-directional video training session that has flipped session components. Participants are expected to be on camera and interact with each other and the facilitator. Participants must commit to attending BOTH Part 1 and 2 of the live sessions because there is interactivity and potential break out rooms that cannot be recorded. This workshop includes:

  1. Flipped format: 30-minutes of pre-session work on your own time
  2. Live Session Part 1 on Wednesday, April 8th from 12:00-2:30PM
  3. Flipped format: 30-minutes of work on your own time
  4. Live Session Part 2 on Thursday, April 16th from 12:00-2:30PM

Learning Objectives:

By the end of this live interactive virtual session, the participant will be able to:

  1. Apply strategies for addressing common challenges in the change process
  2. Describe the role of leaders in creating a healthy environment for change.

Continuing Education:
An application has been submitted to award Certified Health Education Specialists (CHES) and/or Master Certified Health Education Specialists (MCHES) up to a total of 5.5 Category I Continuing Education Contact Hours (CECH). A maximum of 5.5 Advanced-level CECH are available. The National Commission for Health Education Credentialing, Inc. has approved SOPHE and its chapters as designated multiple event providers of CECH in health education. SOPHE is approved by the National Board of Public Health Examiners as a provider of CPH Renewal Credits. An application has been submitted to award 5.5 Renewal Credits.
